I really enjoyed this book. It is not a complete memoir--Drew Barrymore is after all the mother of young children and has a lot of life yet to live. But it is a series of stories about her life, bits and pieces and scenes that have been important to her and which reveal something of her upbringing, her career, her feelings, her relationships, and her humanitarian efforts. The voice is authentic; it feels like the reader is sitting in a room with her having a conversation. My only problem with the book is that it could have used a little more editing. At one point she talks about making a movie for several pages in great detail, but never mentions the title of the movie. I had to go on the Internet and look it up to find out what she was talking about. That doesn't usually happen in a professionally edited and published book. But overall, I enjoyed WILDFLOWER very much and feel that I know Drew Barrymore a lot better than I did.
